Hello all,
I am setting up a 120 gal. tank. Here in Georgia with the droght the lake levels are down. I walk out in the local lake and got some driftwood that would be perfect in my tank. My question is... Is it safe to use this? If so do I need to do anything beside cleaning it off alittle? Any and all help is appericated.
Thanks,
Robert

If you can boil it. If it is too big, take it to a carwash. Don't use the soap cycle. Just use the rinse, as hot as you can get it. Go a couple of cycles. If the wood starts falling apart, you really don't want it in your tank. I use wood from the Mississippi in mine. You have to choose the ones that aren't too soft.

Hey I use to live in Georgia, now I'm in Alabama. I had a tank with som driftwood from Lanier And the Chattahoochee River In my 30 gallon tank. All we did was boil a pot of water and pour it onto the wood out in the yard a few times just to be sure. Then we put it in our fish tank and never had an issue.

Hope this helps.
