Im getting rid of my turtle because it has been a small problem hogging the food, taring plants up, nocking things over and eating fish that are small or injured. I am also considering getting rid of my delhezi bichir which i am hoping to get offered more than ten dollars for like the last time i tried to sell it. If i do this i will have only my 6-7 inch jaguar in my tank. For the aquascaping i plan on switching from gravel to white sand, taking out most of the artificial plants and adding large driftwood. I already have the driftwood and plan on buying sand when i sell the turtle and bichir. Idk about what to do with my background cuz it seems like most of the people on this site dont like the plant backgrounds. I was also thinking about adding 2 or 3 convicts or maybe a firemouth and convict. Please give your feedback. I mostly want to know what you guys think about the background and sand ideas.

Who cares what others think of yr background. Use what you like.

True but I wana go pro haha. I just want to know what looks good maybe show some tank setups with sand and driftwood if you have em. I like the winning tank in tank of the month right now but im using bigger pieces of driftwood so the whole tank is used but idk about the black background.

Black backgrounds are good, especially mixed with a light colored sand substrate. The contrast between the two can often times really perk up tank's occupants colors. Though if you really wanna go pro, do a 3D background, and I know what your thinking "dude those things are expensive". Still youtube's got alot of DIY videos for making your own 3D background so it might be worth it to try doing one yourself. :) I know you said you don't really want any suggestions on stock, but I'd go with Thorichthys ellioti instead of the more common Firemouth if you've got a large enough tank. Also don't worry your not the only one who gets really low-balled when trying to sell fish. Lol! I tried selling my Hydrolycus Armatus once for $15o at 12 inches and got someone harassing me over and over asking to take it for $25. Mind you I payed $225 for the fish when it was 6 inches. Some people sheesh. Lol! J/K sort of. :D
