I havent picked up the filter yet so I really dont have much info the share, but it is a canister from either Fluval or enheim that is a new model that handles tanks 200 gal and larger. Its on order for me by the LFS, limited supply....wish I wrote down what I was getting but I trust the guy...

will this unit provide enough aeration with its adjust return spout? I plan on running heaters in-line (out of the tanks)

The idea is to maintain as few canisters and inside heaters as possible -

any thought if a good idea for in-line heaters?

Depending on the bio-load of the tank you will probably want to add a few power heads for increased oxygen in the water. What are you going to stock with?
Good luck
Jason

Im undecided as of yet - leaning towards some large cichlids pikes, maganese, green terros, texas cichlids, etc.. or scrap that and get some nice africans

Im not going to overload the tank 6 fish max plus a catfish

Howdy,

I hope it's the Eheim Pro 3 that you're waiting for . Make sure to compare prices so that they don't rip you off! e.g. check here:

I have on e on my 220 gal, and it does just fine. You determine the aeration level by positioning the intake.

BTW: Welcome to MFK!!!!

:iagree:

As cannisters go, eheim filters are the bomb. You might even want to eventually add a drip system like Repair has (DIY sticky, top post).

Welcome :D

I'm just jealous

Thanks guys !! more questions to follow once I get the equipment setup....
not looking forward in swinging around 400 lbs of glass

Some more details - all is well and coming together nicely
details on the filter is the new Fluval Fx5 900 Gallons Per Hour !!!
For aquariums up to 1500 L (400 U.S. Gal.)

I really like the unit, you are also able to pump out the tank for quick water changes just by switching your output line....It has the small shop vac feel to it, easy to use and put together....it generates all the aeration I could ever use throught the directional jets.

I dont have fish in it yet - I set up a 55 because the size of fish were either to small, or just to pricey for the right size. Im sure by next couble of days I can find what im looking for for the larger tank
