New Tank Setup

Here is my 55 just got it up and running and starting the cycling process...Not all decorations are in and lights aren't in yet but here is what I have thus far...

60 lbs African Cichlid Sand
200w Aqueon Pro Heater
Fluval 2 output Adjustable Air Pump
Marine land Emperor 400 Filter
Aqueon 55/75 Filter
1 Slate cave with Sand shelf
1 Plastic Football
6 plastic Grass Sprigs
1 Giant Floss Plant 18"

I plan to add a few more things:
A 3 level multi tier slate cave
2 fake medium plants
1 large fake Java plant
1 plastic human skull cave...I modified
2 white led light strips
2 Blue led light strips
Green planted background wallpaper

I'm very open to ideas please feel free to help out...
Also have 3 large feeder gold fish to aid in cycling they will be removed when I feel the tank is seasoned enough for Cichlids...

Also here is a pic of the 55 near complete setup...I'm so proud it's the biggest I've done thus far

Get sea view gel for that background or it will not look constantly on the glass. Your lfs should have it its cheap just helps wallpaper be viewable when you look at it. But it sounds like your Rollin fine.

My LFS closed a week ago...I hit PETCO Petsmart Wetpets and Aquarium Fantasy and none of them had any...but I grabbed some on Amazon it will be here in a couple days...thanks for looking out for me

I have 2 air stones the little 1 inch cylindrical kind and they look okay but I'd like something better...any ideas I have a double output that's adjustable...I don't like the lighted type so any ideas?

I would suggest a black or dark blue background ... but other than that NICE SETUP...

Got my Background on and most of the decorations in...Water is Flowing airlines hidden...tank seems to be fully cycled...Still waiting on lights...Once they are here I'm planning a trip to Wetpets an Hour away...They have a decent selection of fish I'm really looking at JD's but don't know much about them...Any input would be greatly appreciated I know I have a week or two before the lights arrive...this tank will have 1 Earth Eater...2 Jewels...2 Male Convicts...2 African Cichlids...1 Blood Parrot and 1 Taiwan Reef...Please tell me what I can add...and Please use LFS Names...the Scientific Names give me a Headache...

Also Wetpets suggest using the Bucket Method to pick up fish I have a 5 gallon bucket I use for water changes with a lid that's clean but I'm not sure what they mean can someone explain this process to me...
