New tank so looking for sand

Upgrading my 40breeder to a 75 gallon and curious about puffers with certain kinds of sand! Currently have black blasting sand but really like the look of 3m garnet sand! Wondering if this is soft enough for the puffer? (Small fahaka maybe 2" long) if not any other suggestions

My only advice is get something that doesnt feel sharp around the edges, since puffers are scaleless fish, and fahakas tend to bury themselves from time to time, so you dont want anything that might irritate their skin...

That was my main concern so I asked. I feel like the sand I'm using now would be fine but just enjoy that red color. Figure if sand doesn't hurt my giraffe nose cat sifting it through it's gills the puffer should be okay

^ im going to say it should be okay if your giraffe cat can sift through it without hurting himself...

Since they probably use a fair amount of force moving substrate around in a tank...
