Here is my new tank. I have a ocean clear canister filter the tank is drilled for salt water but i think it will work for fresh? Also has a overflow with bio balls that flows into a 30 gal sump then UV sterilizer then back to the canister and then in two the tank. what should i do with it i want a planted tank and as for fish im thinking a Gar and two oscars, catfish and Datnoid!! Anyones thoughts would be appreciated.

- Thanks

Oscars will dig up your plants. Drilled for saltwater - that really just means its ready for a wet/dry filter; which will work fine for fresh water. Some consider it overkill for freshwater, but everyone that I've talked to that says that tends to be saltwater basised. I personally hate canisters but that's because I had one years ago that was a pain to clean. Either way I'm scared for life...or at least for now. I don't know how all those fish will get along but you're at the right place to find out.

ya i got it for free! we tiled this ladies house and she was like " we dont want it anymore do you know anyone who would want it??" I said hell ya... this guy!!

even if I didn't keep fish I would want it...she could have sold it for a lot.

I have a sump on my 260G arowana tank and it works awesome.
I've heard that they are not the best for planted tanks though, because all the splashing lets all the Co2 out of the water.

dats with endis and aro, this tank would look dope, planted would be better.
