New Tank soon but what to put in it?

I am thinking of getting a new small tank around 3ft to house my synodontis eupterus and another cichlid, what cichlid would you guys recommend?

blue acaras can get quite big, but in a 3 foot you are not limited to dwarf cichlids. I would get something that gets 6 inch.
