Hi Guys!

Im going through a separation and had to downsize my tanks alot. I am going to be left with a coffee table aquarium. They claim it is 45 gallons but it is not adding up to me. The inside of the tank is 44 inches long, 22 wide. I did not measure the depth, but it is not deep. Maybe 15inches.

I have normally kept some bigger cichlids, like Festae, Umbee, Dovii etc, but wanted recommendations that could work for this.
I am good with either a solo fish, pair or a few fish.
Ive thrown around the idea of some earth eater type fish, or small cichlid pair.

Would a solo Beani work in a setup like this?

What would you recommend?

How about couple of EBJD's ... nice and colorful...personable.......cliche...can be an issue till it touches 3 inches.. fragile
Chocolate cichlids are also nice

Those dimensions will give you something in the 60 gallon range. Not sure how you filter a "coffee table tank" but if it has good filtration I would look at some thing that max's out at 10" or so. If you've kept Dovii maybe look at a Grammodes "the Mini Dovii" slow growing and mean as hell

you'd need to upgrade at some stage for him live out his live properly but it would be a while (extremely slow growing) I think mine's shrinking instead of getting bigger.
