The Land of Big Tanks
Their new tank has been up and running for a couple weeks now. As soon as the driftwood sinks I'll begin the aesthetics of the tank. plants and custom foam work to hide overflow as well as new lighting will be in the furture update. Sorry for the dirty acrylic. I can't seem to find a good magnetic cleaner that work on acrylic over 1".

Looks good. Would also like to hear about filtration.

Im one of those weirdos that rather keep their cichla in a darker tank. The new lights will be for photos and guests pretty much. No glass filter on this baby yet.
I'm running a 135 gal sump with 4 100micron socks with a Reeflo-barracuda-hammerhead hybrid pump.
WC's occur every 4 days about 50%

Nice tank and fish.

Big magnet cleaners for thick acrylic are expensive. I have a Magnavore 10 that I lucked out and bought used for $40 but I think they retail for almost $400...I think it's actually a little too powerful on my 1.25" acrylic (It's rated for up to 1.5" thick IIRC) and I don't like how small the surface area is...only 4"x3".

This site sells some that look pretty good; they are cheaper than the Magnavores and they have a larger surface area so you don't have to make as many passes to clean: http://www.mightymagnets.com/black floating and flat floating.html

Thanks for the link. Wow I never thought I'd be paying $250 for an algae scrubber haha. Guess you gotta pay to play.
