New tank with cichlids

Yo, it's been 2 weeks that my new tank has been running. My filter finally got started, so 0 ammonia but I still got a bit of nitrite. I added 3 texas cichlids a week ago and they're doing ok (not dead). I'm thinkin of adding a couple more cichlids cuz this guy is giving them to me cuz he breeds them. Is it stupid of me to add them right now or they're not that sensitive?

2 weeks is way to soon..Your tank is not cycled...Wait till all your parameters go up and then down..

I would give your tank more time to develop before adding more fish. It is always better not to rush things in a new tank.
