Just set up a 20 gallon a couple of weeks ago. Added stresszyme weekly and put in 6 goldfish yesterday.

How long can I wait until I can add different fish? I plan on swordtails and platys unless I can find something nice to put in. I have one tank with danios and mollies. Thought about gourmies, but not sure about that. I would love to have some neon tetras in there, but I am not sure what cool fish are compatible with neons. I do plan on a cory and a pleco.

Not flaming here at all....but you may get the answers your looking for if people could read the thread. Purple text is not easy on the eyes. Just a heads-up...

takes a tank about a month to completely cycle. almost all fish are compatible with neon tetras...if its in the tetra family you are more than likely in luck! good luck!

Six goldfish is pushing it already. If you want a nice community of fish get rid of the goldfish first. In fact goldfish are coldwater fish and most of the fish we keep are tropical. Not to mention they're messy, excessively inbred and are best used as feeders.

What's the tanks water chemistry?

I did a water change yesterday as the ammonia was a bit high for my taste (not even .25)

I am getting rid of the goldfish today or tomorrow and will put in a couple of zebra danios first and wait awhile until it is completely cycled, then add neons, a cory (maybe 2?) and pleco. I will put in the 3 swords (1 male, 2 female) last. I don't know if I will have enough room for any platys or not, but might be able to get away with one angel fish.

Forget the Angelfish, a 20G is too small. Go with three cories (they do best in groups of three or more). Maybe 9 Neons and a pair of Rams for some character.
