Just picked up a new tank.

Dimensions are 48x18x24.

Just got an fx5 for it.

How many RBP should I add to it?

i would say 4 for life unless u plan on upgrading once they grow then get 6 and u might want to look into additional filtration in the form of HOB filters got any pics?

4 maybe 5 for life, used to have 7 in a 45 gallon and they were doing fine (even breeded) until one day I came home all 7 went belly up...later I found out terminator was in my room to spread pesticide next to the tank.

I would go for 3 in there for life. Remember when we talk about for LIFE meaning being in there until they naturally die. Adult Red Bellies can grow up to 10" plus. The tumb of rules generally piranha need atleast 20gallon space and room to space, however as for adult piranha need about 30gallon per fish space and room to swim.

IMO 3 are perfect number in there (75g and 90g)....however the bigger tank the better.
