New Tank.

Just picked up a 75Gallon.
Put .5" pool filter sand in it.
But I cleaned the Sand up has best as i could.
But I have a Q. Would this stock work.
3 Pictus Cats
2 Severums
1 Gold saum
1 Pleco

I am going to use a pleco that stays under 8".
I hope this will work.


And should i add water conditioner? If so how long till i could add fish this way?

that's a perfect stocklist. Remember, lot's of cover and driftwood. If by water conditioner you mean prime or another dechlorinator, just add some before water changes. If you mean as a substitute for cycling your tank, then no, you must cycle your tank

Do you have any other cycled tanks running? If so just seed your filter from your other tanks. Otherwise you have to cycle it or buy Marineland Bio-Spira.

I always squeeze the garbage out of my sponge filters into new tanks and they cycle themselves almost instantly. Some old unwasged gravel would help but not as much as other media.

ok my filter uses Carbon and so does my bros would carbon work?

What I do to cycle my tanks instantly is a couple packets of Bio-Spira from the Doctors, then I add the biomax inside my multiple ac110's which are used for this purpose to culture bacteria and squeeze my sponges from filters into the filter I want established. Bamm good to go for a relatively heavy stocking. I reccommend keeping a couple cycled filters running with bio media such as BioMax or Efhisubstrat. Works like a charm to seed other filters.

I would advise to keep 3 pictus 2 Sevs and a BN Pleco, skip out on the GT plus Sevs look much better in groups or pair with just a species tank.
