After being commanded to move my current tank & having will be having to construct a rather nice new tank stand, i plan on having a 2 tiered system.
one for my current setup (oscars/cats etc) and one for an as of yet unknown set of fish..
first of it will be another 55gal (220litres i think.. so maybe 54gal.. whatever)
and i do like my oddbals and monsters so any suggestions are welcome! i have been considering some of the following (most dont go together im aware there's are just possible fish, one or the other not all in together!)

http://fishbase.sinica.edu.tw/summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=6385 <- has anyone kept one before? a native Aussie fish commonly known as a bullrout.
a possibility also is the tetraroge barbata/niger fish as these are much smaller.
any feedback on that?

any form of pike characins that would be suitable for a 55gal? im under the impression that most would still grow too big and skittish for a 55?

and one that is sitting almost at the top of my list if it werent for the bullrout... is this fella: http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/cteno-ac.htm

whatever goes in i want a quite well planted tank as my current setup doesnt do too well with an oscar digging things up all the time!

anyway after all that confusion im wide open to suggestions! Predatory fish always pique my interest but i would like a tank that has a few decent sized fish (about 15cm mark) unless its something really interesting that i can devote the whole tank to...

cheers!

hi
ive kept bullrout before. they're pretty cool but not very active. theres lots of them in creeks near my house. watch out because they can sting you.

ah, im confident i'd be able to obtain one through my LFS, i was curious as to how toxic there sting actually is? just painful or outright death? it'd be nice to know.
i assume for the size of the fish a 55gl is appropriate? from what i can glean from the.. 3 sites that have any info they seem largely inactive apart form feeding a night-time..
anyhoo if anyone can shed more light on this fish or suggest others.. rock on brutha(or sistah)
