new tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It all depends on what you want to keep in it.
did you have anything in mind for the final stock?

If you dont have any tanks zebra danios are good to cycle your first tank then make good dithers and later snacks for your bigger fish

Zebras or gouramis are great for first fish as they are very hardy.

:iagree:

It doesn't make sense to purchase a fish that you don't want in your final set-up just to cycle a tank. Only if you have hyper-sensitive species in mind as final stock. If you want algae eaters or catfish, then get those first. They tend to be quite hardy due to the environment they live in. Pick wisely, though, I wouldn't use a zebra pleco. ;) You can also use livebearers (guppies, swordtails), they can be used as feeders at the end.

If you want a cleaner fish try a pleco, ottos, or maybe a school of cories. What do you want the final stock to be? A community? predator? cichlid?

I don't think it would be a good idea to use put cleaner fish in the new tank. There's probably nothing for them to clean
