New Tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It felt so good to order my new tank tonight! By By 55 Hello 180!!!!!!

I got a 180 6'X2'X18" with a black frame.

I will have pix of it set up with my DIY lids and stand as well as the sump Im building right now that will be on it with two HOB's and a canister until I can get my 37 gallon sump built for it and i hope to lose the HOB's and run 2 sumps or the 37 and an FX5.

What do you think about a 37 gallon sump and a 20 sump together?
 
I dont think a 37gal sump and 20gal sump running on the same tank is a good idea.

When they are both running it might be ok but if either return pump fail, then you have a problem.

What I would do in your case is build and run the 37gal sump and get the canister filter.
The intake of the canister can pick up **** from the bottom of the tank and provide mech filtration.
The wet/dry can filter the water from the top and provide great bio filtration. Together they will be perfect.

Thats just my opinion but I'm sure the more experienced members can give you better advise.

My plan then is to run the HOB's and the 20 gallon sump until i build the 37 gallon sump then switch them out. and replace the HOB'sfor the FX5.

180 is 6x2x2.... not a 180 but still has a nice foot print..
 
You can run 2 sumps....I am....you just have to connect the two so if power goes out or one pump goes out or if one pump is bigger than the other. Right now I am actually running one pump in one sump and the other sump just flows water through it. I haven't got a chance to set the 2nd pump up....new tank.
