Just upgraded from a 5 gallon to 20.

I just purchased a new 20 gallon tank. Its set up, fish in, new filters, everything new. Fish and rocks are about a month old, transferred from a 5 gallon. Includes: 1 feather-duster, 2percula clown fish, 3 live rocks, one already has thriving growth, two others are growing... 1 crab, dont know species...1 anenome, was hiding it live rock! I need some questions answered...how often should the water be changed? What is a "glass anenome" and waht does it look like? And there are "bug-like" critters on my thriving live rock. Little clear-white bugs, what are they and where did they come from, and should I be worried?

what kind of filters/ lighting are you using? water change once a week on a small tank like that do a couple gallons.

Glass anenomes are aptasia and are considered pests, they multiply like crazy from any fragments left behind. If they become a problem there are several products to kill them or manysources say just inject them with a little lemon juice. Peppermint shrimp also eat them, here is a pic of one kind. The critters are most likely copepods, there are many kinds and they are common hitch hikers on live rock. free swimming types are benificial and great food for featherdusters and many small fish.

Hopefully you cycled the new aquarium b4 you you move the inhabitants into it. It will cycle faster with established rock, but could be to harmful for the fish and other inverts besides the aptaishia. If you did not cycle the aquarium first, change about 10%+ everyday to keep the nitrogen cycle down. It will take longer then usual to cycle but your charges might live through the experience.
