i recently gat a 55 breeder and it now contains one 6" pleco, one 11" black belt, and one 6" jaguar....is this combo nok......and is the tank big enough? i have a fluval and a ugf.

i think the jaguar and black belt will fight, i have never had either one but i heard the jags are mean. but what are the dimensions of your tank? ive never heard of a 55 breeder.

ugf? is it doing much? i hear they are a waste. i say invest in a good hob or another cannister.

but they probably will fight. the belt is getting on the big side.

Do you have pics of the Blackbelt? Is it a male or female blackbelt? if you ever want to sell the blackbelt please let me know. I was gonna buy a blackbelt from a local fish store here in San Antonio ( only to have them sell it to someone else  )

actually the ugf is working very well......ever since i installed it my ammonia level has stopped peaking....and i'm sorry, but my blackbelt is my baby...i've raised him since he was less than an inch..... try looking in the classifieds

I too have had success with UGF's. As long as the cichlids are not digging all the time, it provides pretty good biological filtration. I'd never try it with my midas, or my Oscars they are constantly excavating, but I have used it before with my severum since she never used to move single rock. Oh, I'd love to see pics of the blackbelt too!

I woulds look for a bigger tank.. You and your fish will be able to enjoy and appretiate at least 90 gallon.. But i would go 100 g

I havnt heard of a 55 breeder, but you still need a bigger tank. 75 is would be absolute MINIMUM but they might still fight so bigger is better

well i have a divider and a new 100 gal whisper filter.....i have also been doing tons of heavy waterchanges......i intend on giving them a bigger home later on.......i'm looking at a 120 gal bowfront at my local pety store.....and actually i do have pics of my blackbelt....
....how do i put them on.
