new tank

I posted this in general but got no reply, so i thought i would try here

Hi
i am getting a 60 " X 30 " x 24" soon , i want to start off with a couple of oscars ,around 4" in size , i know they are going to be a bit small in a tank this size to start, but i know they grow quickly.

What i would like to know is what else could i have with the oscars as they grow ? I like pike cichlids,gars,birchirs , would any of these be suitable ? I would like keep around 5 or 6 fish in all, would this be ok ?

p.s I will be using an fx 5 and a aqua one 600 for filtration.

I would do all of the above. Oscars, florida or spotted gar, stay away from longnose or alligator gars they grow too big too fast. Look for a Delizi or Lapradae bicher, and get a nice red pike. Thats a cool tank size how many gallons is that?
