For Christmas im setting up a 40 gallon breeder tank and im very interested in Bichirs. marbled and Senegal to be exact. Can i mix these two and if i do whats some interesting tankmates for them. Aqadvisor says i could do a Green terror or ect. Or i could do a group of Firemouths too. Any suggestions?

Welcome, there is actually a section specially for bichirs (polypterus)

I'm sure you wil get more feedback there.

As for tank size, I won't put a GT in a 40g with bichirs. A 40g can house maybe two or three of the smaller species like senegals, delhezi and palmas. Personally, I won't go anything smaller than 50g for senegals knowing how large they can actually get.

I would probably stick with some smaller cichlids like salvinis, Jack Dempsey.

I agree Jack's do get 10 inch's but there one of the milder cichlids, i can see why a Green Terror wouldnt work. Can you guy's name some Cichlid's that would work, I know Jack's would, and Salvini's, Firemouth's, Convict's, Blood Parrots, and Angel's. Did i miss any?

convicts would be your best bet.

Haha no that thing is about 13 feet long and is a resident of the San Diego Zoo. It's 2 crocodiles, 2 small hippos, and about a million cichlids in there.
