Ok so tomorrow I should be getting a 26 gallon bowfront. What should I put in it? Right now it has a snowflake eel, peppermint shrimp and a Niger trigger. But we want to put a clown in and take out the trigger and the eel. But what can I put with the clown?? New to salt water help me out!!

Ya you definatly want to take the eel and trigger out... that tank is WAY to small for them (the trigger needs around 200gal). You could put 2 clowns, or some gobies, maybe a cardinal? firefish? jawfish? Blenny? It's your tank, so put what fits your tastes, just make sure it stays small enough for that tank as alot of marine fish need more room then that.

I wasn't sure what gets huge and what stays small. The baby loves nemo so trying to go according to that. It has a large piece of live rock. What else do clowns need?

That's all really if the tank has already been sustaining SW fish without problems. Maybe an Anemone eventually but the tank has to be very stable and well established so I would hold off on getting something like that for a long time.

Well Anemone's protect the clownfish in the wild from potential predators. In your tank it's more for the symbiotic relationship. If you have ever seen a clownfish dance in an anemone you would understand why a lot of people want them together. Also the anemone benifits aswell when a clownfish is hosting it. If the clown is to large for the anemone it can cause damage and kill it off as well. You can keep your clownfish for life without an anemone and it will be fine.. Some people just enjoy watching the interaction of the two.. Youtube some videos..

If this is your 1st attempt at maintaining saltwater I'd hold off on anemones for a few months anyways. Your main concern now is keeping your current stock alive and gettin' your head around exceptable stable saltwater parameters. Also it will give you time to research how to care for large inverts - PH, KH, Nitrate, Phosphate ,Current, toxin removal and prevention, Lighting, food sources, and hosting variaties of anemones. Don't just dive into Anemones blind and inexperienced, they can destroy all life in your tank if they stress and release toxins. Slow is Good!

I've got a 26 bow, packed with corals and a pair of black clowns, flame angel an a long nose hawk. But I've been keeping salt fish for 30 years. Take your time , limit your self to gobies, blennies, cardinal fish, please understand the full tank cycle and don't use damsel s to do it.

I would stick to 1 clown, the cleaner shrimp, few hermit craps and 1-2 mexican turbo snails for algae cleanup. and a bunch of coral.

29g fill it with coral. if your insisting on more fish (which complicates things = more waste etc) stick with very small ones.
:D

Yeah, you def don't want big fish in there, I have 6 fish in my 28G. I have a flame angel, chromi, blenny, mandrin, and 2 black clowns.. My tank does fine with that bio load.. Just make sure your tank can handle what you stock and don't get too crazy..
