Some pictures of a new 55 gallon I set up a couple days ago. It was set using a seeded filter so I'm not too worried about the cycle. It's housing 3 Festae growouts, 3 Salvini growouts, 2 Red Hook Silver Dollars, 1 Thin Bar Silver Dollar, 1 PK, and 3 Clown Loaches. I basically wanted a colorful growout tank and wanted to try out Pool Filter Sand.
So far the Pool Filter Sand is great, I even vacuumed it once with no problems. I would definitely recommend it as it is cheap, clean, and efficient. I have another thread with pictures of a progression of 4 rinses and a vid of dumping it into the tank.

Driftwood, PFS, Fake plants

Added some Manznita to hang down from the back of the glass top. I used a basic nut and bolt with plastic washers to get the Manzanita to stay attatched to the glass top.

Added a 2nd piece to kind of even out the tank

Built a shelf above the tank and hung a $20 Home Depot light from it above the tank. It looks kind of dark in the picture but it's pretty bright in real life.
I'm probably going to add another AC 110 to this tank. If not a Fluval 305 canister. I originally wanted to add a 29 gallon tank to the bottom of this metal stand but I never really measured. I just assumed, which means I later found out that the bottom rack is on the inside of the legs, meaning its shorter than 12'' wide. Probably just going to get a piece of plywood and cut it down and set the aquarium on top of that.
