Hello, i'm setting up a new 5x2.5x2 tank for a pair medium/ large central american cichlids. I am unsure what size eheim professional 2 filter to use. Also does anyone got any opinions or experience with the Eheim Professional External Wet/Dry filters? Lastly any ideas on the best materials to use to clad the metal tank stand? i was thinking along the lines of vineered waterproof/ resistant MDF, but am unsure of wether it would stand up long term to the water.
Thanks for any help,
Liam.

MDF should go alright, you will have to put a sealer on it though becuase it will warp and fall to bits if you dont (most likely). What we have over here is about 10mm (thats for the fake vj sheeting which i am assuming your thinking of using) you need something at least that thickness in mdf. dont forget to wear a dust mask lol !!!

well go with a pair of motas, jags, dempsey, texas, or maybe some bartoni....
