I have a 10 gallon yank with a rena smart filter on it. the only thing in it is a rock crab and some live rock on a sand substrate. the salinity is 1.022. the tank has been started for 1 week 2 days ago I added 7 1/2 pounds of live rock and is their any thing that i need to add. I am just starting in to salt water.

If your first SW tank is a 10 gallon then your a lot braver than I am. Smaller set ups are a LOT less stable and forgiving than larger ones.

i would suggest you toss out the rena filter. its more of a headache later. keep up the water changes and have good current. also check salinity every day... or at least once every other day. go build a aquaclear 70 or 110 fuge.

works wonders. i started salt water with a 10g nano as an experiment (literally... never expected to get into salt water) and its been stable after the 1st 2 weeks when i finally built the fuge. never "cycled" my tank...
