Hey, I just picked up a new terrarium this weekend. Its 34" wide, 30" front to back, and 60" tall. It's made of 1/4" plate glass all around, except for the door, which is 1/8" glass, and is 34" wide by 48" tall. The top is a mesh screen held between two layers of glass eurobracing.
The bottom is 12" deep (below the door). It is sealed and should hold water (full would be about 52g).
I got it not really having a firm idea of what I'd like to keep. I'm not going to be able to use it for a couple months, as I'm trying to move and its in storage at my parents house for now.
I'm just trying to get an idea of a handful of species that would work well in this size enclosure, and would actually make use of the space. I'm open to snakes, lizards, gecko's, frogs, etc. I just really have no idea.
On another note, this enclosure could probably be laid on its back, with the door opening upwards. That would place the mesh screen on one end of the enclosure, but would give it a larger floorspace (60" x 34") with a 30" height.
Any ideas? What would YOU do with it?
