Got my new tessealta from bluezoo on saturday.
Hes awesome.
I dont know how to post pic's , but I'll work on it.
Id guess he's about 20"

wasnt interested in food yesterday...but today he devoured a couple small pieces of raw shrim from the supermarket.
I'll probably call bluezoo and see what they were feeding him.

what size tank is he in? those are great looking animals and were on my to get list.

Right now he's in a 75.
I had a home-made refugium above that holds about 25. So total volume is about a hundred.
Just him in the tank.

Im an older guy ( 52)
And I lost my job about 1-1/2 years ago. I had great success raising and breeding seahorses for the past 3 years. But I couldnt afford it anymore.
So I got rid of my 20 odd tanks ( I have an unfisnished basement which is cool...you dont have to worry about appearance.)
And seahorse fry can use small tanks. So I had a ton of 20 gal's.

anyway... I kept my one large system and wanted something unusual.
So I went with the tesselata. I'll try to get some pictures soon...but its a beautiful animal.
I cant decide when I need to move up...if I will make a tank or buy a tank. I actually have been thinking of making a plywood tank in the shape of an "L". I think it would be cool looking and also sturcturally strong...but who knows. Maybe 5-6" running feet than make a right turn for another 5-6.


Anyway. Bluezoo was great..super polite. The eel came perfectly packaged and healthy. Im very happy with it.
Im guessing about 20" , but thats still pretty small diameter
