New Texas Cichlids

Stopped by my LFS to get my weekly supply of ghost shrimp and decided to pick up a pair of Texas Cichlids. This is the first pair of Texas I have ever had so Im pretty stoked to see how they turn out. Any words of wisdom about them?

Easy to keep. Easy to breed. Very fun.

was gonna get them too but later i realized these aren't green texas/escondido.

My Texas has been a slow grower.
Not sure if this is a characteristic of the breed, or just my fish?
