http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1155076/
set to be released June 2010 I think.
It's gonna be called "The Kung Fu Kid" instead to avoid anger from fans. They are basically taking the backbone of the original movie and changing scenes and characters. Jackie Chan will play the roll of the teacher of kung fu and Jaden Smith (wil smith's son) will play the main character who moves with his mom to Bejing and gets bullied, then learns kung fu and defends himself, blah blah blah
My thoughts are, you can't remake a classic like The Karate Kid. I'm glad they decided to change the title because it was gonna be called "The Karate Kid." That would've been an epic fail because, karate isn't originated in China and why the heck is it in China anyways??? So good thing they are changing the title name.
I loved part 1 and 2 of The Karate Kid, they are classics to me and I think they failed at part 3 and part 4 was just a shame.
So who here grew up watching The Karate Kid and what are your thoughts? I think it's got a 70-30 chance of failing.
