I'm Where I'm At
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1155076/

set to be released June 2010 I think.

It's gonna be called "The Kung Fu Kid" instead to avoid anger from fans. They are basically taking the backbone of the original movie and changing scenes and characters. Jackie Chan will play the roll of the teacher of kung fu and Jaden Smith (wil smith's son) will play the main character who moves with his mom to Bejing and gets bullied, then learns kung fu and defends himself, blah blah blah

My thoughts are, you can't remake a classic like The Karate Kid. I'm glad they decided to change the title because it was gonna be called "The Karate Kid." That would've been an epic fail because, karate isn't originated in China and why the heck is it in China anyways??? So good thing they are changing the title name.

I loved part 1 and 2 of The Karate Kid, they are classics to me and I think they failed at part 3 and part 4 was just a shame.

So who here grew up watching The Karate Kid and what are your thoughts? I think it's got a 70-30 chance of failing.

I grew up watching them also I agree loved part one and two not to much three and four , that would have been an epic fail if they did name the new one the karate kid however it might be good I haven't seen a jackie chan movie that I haven't liked the guy has mad skills ... I mean how many other actors do you hear about that actually prefer to do their own stunts ... I read somewhere about how amny bones in his body he has broke during filming , I forget the exact number but it was crazy

sweet!

I remember the first three but was'nt aware that a fourth was even made.I was a hardcore martial arts movie fan during that time and I did'nt really care for American made movies of the genre so I did'nt pay much attention to it.

trust me, you're better off not knowing about the 4th one. it's not Daniel Larusso anymore. Main character's a girl,............. Hilary Swank actually plays the role of a teen orphan who's bullied and taken under the wing of Mr. Miyagi.

I love Jackie Chan also, if anything, I'm willing to give any Jackie Chan movie a try. But I still don't think it will be a box office hit.

Can they make a movie with normal asian people in it without doing karate or kung fu?

your question contradicted itself. any normal asian will do karate or kung fu. :headbang2:headbang2

it's the weird ones that don't do it :screwy::screwy::screwy:

I'll just bet that I am ha ha.I dont think that I will ever be bored enough to have to sit through it.Jackie Chan is okay but I dont care for all of that slapstick in my action movie viewing pleasure..But then again,I really got a kick out of Kung Fu Hustle lol.
