i just go three of them yesterday and one of them (with absolutely no outside injuries) is swimming like its retarded.. its nose down like its lost its tail and gets tired and floats bottom up for a sec or two at a time.. i think i got a defective fish? is it internal? its going to die in my tank for sure, so do i euthanize it? what do i do with it..

vid would help, but 3 tiger barbs is very difficult to pull off. I've had lots of tb's at one time or another and the smallest successful group Ive been able to pull off was 5. The larger the group the better. Males will try to kill off other males and they will chase females relentlessly to spawn, which is why you have better chances with larger groups.

All in all, they are not the easiest fish to house and aside from what they do to each other, in smaller groups they can be horrible fin nippers. if you had 2 males out of your 3, the fish swimming erratically could have been injured by the dominant fish.

try to get a pic or vid up and you might want to see about getting a few more. just my 2c
 
Sounds like swim bladder disorder, looks like it too. :(

Feeding him peas could help, maybe take him out and put him in a bucket and try to feed him a pea. It might sound funny that feeding a pea could help him return back to normal, but I've heard of it being a successful treatment numerous times. Stress coat might be helpful too

very possible, but one of my females did this all the time from eating at the surface. They are pigs that suck in as much air as food sometimes. I actually had to start soaking the food before I fed them to get her to stop doing this. She did this for almost month before i figured it out

i did a video just now :) i only got three cuz im a broke ass had to wait til tomorrow to get the other three rofl.. but still wtf do i do with it? just keep it there until i go tomorrow? my other fish arent bothering it, i watched for like an hour just to make sure

ooohh ic.. well another thing i was going to do was get the right food.. i have tiny floating cichlid pellets which i kinda didnt think was the right food.. what kind should i get? nothing messy i hate that lol (same problem with my frogs) stupid food lol

ok ill get him out for a min and try.. i dont have frozen peas, can i use canned?
 
peas always seem to help with any kind of digestive issues, but I think as long as you soak the food so they don't feed at the surface it'll go away. They are terrible surface feeders..
