hey i just bought this 9 inch i think tire track eel from my lfs for $14
and i was wondering what do i feed it it is currently in my 180 g, do i just give it shrimp please help since i dont want it to die thank u i will post pics later
 
oh and i know they eat blood worms but i wanted to know if they could eat market shrimp and sinking pellets
 
They will eat worms, krill, feeder fishes, fish fillet, prawns, crayfish, and any fish that will fit in its mouth live or dead. You have to use prawn with moderation. Prawn content phosphate as preservative. It may take some training for it to take krill. Pellets are not something they prefer at least for me. Good Luck.
 
hey i have a built in corner overflow and he like to get himself stuck on the teeth of it he doesnt get sucked in but im afraid he will and if he does i might go in my durso standpipe and into my drip plate how do i prevent this
 
cover the "intake tube" with a sponge. and make sure he has plenty of hideing spots.
 
okay that sound good, and how do u get them to eat in such a huge tank
 
he will hand feed before to long. my fire eel loves to get into my overflow box. no matter how well i block it off he still squeezes through. and even with a 4" water level difference he has no problem climbing back into the main tank. just put a sponge on ur drain pipe and you will be fine.
 
how often do u feed i was thinking every other day
