Hey I am now a Arowana Noob.

I actually won the post a palooza!!! So I'm getting my tank ready.

Now I have a 95 gallon tank that currently has a 6 inch LMB and 4 inch Small mouth in it. and I also have an empty 30 gallon.

Now I assume the Aro is gonna be a Juvie so is it okay for me to keep him in the 30 gallon short term until I can get my hands on a larger tank?

Or would he be okay short term with the Bass...This idea I don't think is that great being the bass are so aggressive.

third option is to say bu-bye to the bass and put the Aro in the 95....this option I really would not like doing as I love the bass, but I have wanted an aro for a long time now so it is an option.

thanks for your help.

if its a juvie i am sure a 30 would be fine to grow him out in. although i would say buy buy bass. i used to have some bass too, but had to get rid of them due to tank aggression. this aro is very unique and should be made top priority! good luck!

What type of Aro did you win? I'm not familiar with the contest.

Wasnt it a Jardini? Or is the jardini for the MFK logo contest?

Yeah....thats the thing I can ALWAYS do bass...FREE!!!..... so the Aro will be top priority, but If I can grow him out in a 30 and hopefully find a good deal on a tank in the next few months then I'd like to do that.

it is a juvie, it would fine to grow him a ltitel in the 30. But if your worried about aggession, why not put a divider in the 90, i dunno its dimentions but it should be more room. But as always, make sure theres a heater.

Yeah I would hate to half the room for the bass cause they need room, but how long would you guys say he'd be good in the 30 before moving him to a larger tank. He will be the only fish in the 30 gallon.

I can give myself a time frame to have a new tank or maybe even find a new home for the bass.

you talk as if the arowana is MORE important in terms of its well being.

and that bass are garbage and can be thrown away and replaced easily, great mentality! WRONG

if your going to get rid of the bass, be a responsible fish keeper and find it a new suitable home, that bass has as much priority as the arowana.

what are the dimensions of the 30? that fish is already in trouble being in a 30 with no much bigger tank in sight, better start saving every cent you can get and time to throw out that nice couch and love seat in the living room :naughty:
