so i have invested in knives recently i have a black ghost and a clown my black ghost is about 3 inches and is sitting in my 20 long with some fish that a calm and suitable for tank mates at the moment ( from what i hear they grow slow enough and get big to a point i can stick him in a a 55 soon and when he gets bigger from what i hear finialy housing him in a 120 ( if im wrong tell me im just unsure because all i have is chatter and varyingly results if you tell me ill keep him happy with what he needs ) and my clown is about 4 inches is in a 29 for the time being and im not waisting time moveing tanks im saveing for a 6-3-2 sound good any outher thoughts ?

yep black ghosts grow pretty slow and get about 18''

so 6 feet long 3 feet wide and 2 feet tall ? that would be okay but longer would be better the 3 feet wide is important and even if you can't get a longer tank it would be okay

shouldn't be to hard rents done foods payed for bills over and i am getting a paycheck still before it starts over ( and again next month i think i can get it by mid-july if thats not fast enough maybe i would give him to to a local pet store till i get a better tank

black ghost knives get 25 inches long. (60 cm)

25'' long seems a stretch for a BGK. BGKs over a foot are hard to come by, and over 20 inches is just plain unheard of.

The largest CK i've seen was roughly four feet, however, generally CKs don't get much over two feet.

Are you planning on keeping the ghost kinfe and clown knife together? Even in large tanks when these fish are full grown they tend not to like one another - something about being a knifefish. If you do keep them together make sure to provide a lot of hiding spaces. Keeping them well fed might also help them from arguing.
My 6 inch ghost knife is the happiest and nicest fish in the world - until you put in another knifefish into his tank. ONe of the many reasons why breeding them is so hard....
