ok well i have started to breed convicts. I have a 30 gallon long tank with colored gravel, lid, light, filter, and 3 fake plants. I also have a 5 gal with a lid,light, gravel, and castle. Not sure what all of this i will use but if this is what i have what else will i need to be able to start breeding convicts? What other tanks and what sizes? What gravel, plants, decor? What filter, lights, and heaters? What food? and should i start with only one pair or two pairs? and where should i get my first ones since i heard not to get some from pet stores?..please help me and thank u if u do

I would get a 20 gallon so you could use the 20 for the parents or fry and the other tank for the other.
lol, convicts will breed in the sink. Just feed em, try to have it set up that the pairs can make their own territories and let em go. we have about 12 cons in a 125gal with a T-Barb and 3 giant dainos. The pairs of cons split up the tank and we get fry every other month and sometimes multiple times a month! the problem in our tank is the T-Barb eats em all up asap. but its fun to watch the fry follow the parents around.
If you do it right you only need one pair. They are really easy to sex, males have a high slope head and females have orange/pink on the belly.
