I was thinking about stocking my 60gal with species only tank of Tropheus cichlids. Ive never kept cichlids but i run a 180gal with some monster fish. I have feel confident to take on a challenging fish. Are these fish hard to keep? Any experances with any type of tropheus would be rad.

Ahhh that would be cool! What kind of tropheus cichlids are you thinking about getting? The fish are moderately easy to raise you just have to watch your protein. There's a debate whether protein will cause bloat, but it is shown they are very susceptible to it, so watch your protein. Other than that it will probably be kick ass!

If you already run a "monster fish" tank, you should have no problems running an African tank.

Here is a link that has a nice list of tropheus species, but obviously some are going to be more readily available than others. There is also some information on them at the second link. I will add that I don't think it is recommended to mix species because they will interbreed pretty readily. Not positive, but pretty sure I read that somewhere.
