Hi everyone, im usually a polypterus kind of guy, but i was interested in getting my first pike when i saw a few today at my LFS. Although i can't identify them because i am new to pike and all the information about this pike was that it could grow to about 8". I was just wondering if anyone could narrow it down from here and maybe show a few pics and i could point out which one it was. I really want one of these guys but don't know anything about them. Thanks for all the help!

That really doesn't help much when it comes to narrowing it down. Its probably a type of Saxatilis pike though, so try looking at photos of Crenicichla sveni, Crenicichla lepidota, Crenicichla saxatilis, Crenicichla lucius, Crenicichla proteus, and Crenicichla frenata and see if any of those are close matches. Oh, also look at Crenicichla sp. 'belly crawler'.

The sveni and lepidota look like what i saw in the store. If anyone is reading this its the pike that Jack's Aquarium currently has in Findlay, Ohio
