I had an LFS order 2 dats for me. They knew what they were when I asked for "dats" and said they deal with them all the time. I asked what kind of dat, and they said gold or we can get silver. Anyway, I went ahead and ordered them and today the arrived at the store. When I got there , they were being kept in a tank marked brackish. I thought these fish were freshwater. I do not have a brackish tank set up. Is there a type of dat that is brackish, or is the store mis-informed? I would like to get them if they can be acclimated to freshwater. I can get pictures up if needed.

Silver dats are brackish but can be acclimated to freshwater. All dats are very tolerable of salt.

the only 2 dats that are slightly brackish are the Silver AT and the NGT... but all can be kept in freshwater.

BFR is correct. AT and NGT are found in brackish condtions for atleast part of there life in the wild, but do very well in completely fresh water. ST, NTT, IT are all completely fresh.
