I have a 55G tank is cycled: ammonia=0 Nitrate=0 Nitrite=0 PH 8 (using tap water & water conditioner) I have heard mixed reviews on PH some say it has to be in the 6 range others say as long as it is consistent 8 is fine???

What should I feed them?
Best live plants for discus?
Is 4 discus to much for a 55G?

Thanks

Sign up to the Simply Discus forum and read all you can on there.

Consistent pH is best.
FD blackworms, beefheart, pellets & flake
Best to go barebottom tank when starting out
Discus do best in groups of 5 or more. You can do 5 in a barebottom 55. but a 75gallon would be best

Thanks, however my tank is not bare bottom it already has plants and rock with substrate. Also I have two discus in there (I plan on getting 4 possibly 5 just can't drop ($400-$500 in one sitting on fish) So I plan to add 2 more next pay. They have been in the tank for 2days now but don't seem to want to each much of at all, is this normal while adjusting to a new environment? I have been feeding blood worms (frozen) and brine shrimp (frozen) the one is obsessed with his reflection and chases it around the tank I'm assuming this is fine since most fish do this at first. Thanks for your help

Like alot of fish, they can be shy when first introduced but if healthy should come around given time. Youre going to want to work in pellets & flake. BWs and brine shrimp are more treats and offer very little nutritional value. You'll find all the tips you need on Simply Discus.

You want to do all your research before you buy any stock. You already bought two sooo. In my experience which is very little because they are costly to make mistakes with. Buy all your stock at once. I added discus like what you are suggesting well it didn't workout. Added stock rearranged tank new discus bullied old stock until it went from seven over time to one dominant one left. Even buying all your stock at same time might not help they are bullies in my opinion
