Hi, after selling my big Predators over the Christmas period I have been busy over the last month or two re-stocking my 260g tank.

Discus: Blue Tiger, Red Alenquer, Green Japura, San Merah, Red Marlboro, Pidgeon Blood, Blue Diamond

Tankmates: Gold Tetra, Cardinal Tetra, Emerald Catfish, Sterbai Cory, Metae Cory, Banded Apisto, German Ram, L57, L200, L201, L400.

Everthing has been treated/wormed ect. Perameters are: Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 5 Temp: 29oC.
Feeding is 3-4x per day on beefheart, bloodworm, brineshrimp, Discus pellets

Pics to follow :)

I would love to see some pics. My only piece of advice would be don't feed too much Beefheart, I never use it I don't like feeding fish terrestrial meat. Your water sounds fine and these being domestic fish I wouldn't worry too much about Ph and hardness unless your water is liquid rock you sould be fine. Just waiting on the pics now,

Thanks mate, advice taken :) Doing a water change later so will get pics then (tanks a little yellow due to drift wood).
Discus tend to stay at the back when the lights are on, little shy as their only 3" but im sure they will start coming out for photo shoots soon!

 Reads like the makings of a very nice setup. Given the tank is so large & they are so small, it is natural for them to stick together for a bit. Once they get comfortable they'll be sailing w/out a care. Agree somewhat w/ Aquanero on the beefheart. I know there are those that swear by it & there are dozens of homade recipes but success can be obtained w/out it. There are alternatives ..........

{There are a number of different things you can choose to diversify your discus' diet. Mine is a bit extreme (OCD) but the choices are many. Food varies every couple a days - live blackworms, San Fran Bay Frozen Bloodworms, Mysis Shrimp, Ocean Nutrition Discus Flakes, Als Austrailian freeze dried blackworms, O.S.I. Spirulina Flakes, NLS Discus Formula pellets & Dainichi Cichlid - Color FX + Vita-Chem once a week.} "T"

I have to send you pics of my discus tank. My water is quite hard and acidic (5.5 pH). My discus are super colorful and growing so fast, they are not even a year old and already half the size of a dinner plate. I feed them a special food made by Hans of Discus Hans. He is the only Stenkler discus distributor in the US. I had the opportunity to see him make his food and he threw shrimp, some ground beef (lean), fish flakes, brine shrimp, blood worms, some garlic and paprika all into a food processor. His discus are about 18-22cm from nose to tail fin. They're huge!
