Hey all, just stumbled across this site in a fish magazine as I was ironically looking for examples of some fish pictures... I'm posting out of Salt Lake City.

Been into photography for a while now but just got my first DSLRs (D60 & D70) a couple months ago.

I'm hoping to learn a lot around here but to start off, here are a few shots from some of my "father in law's" tanks (some pics are cleaned up, others raw):

Welcome to APF!

Nice photos. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. The site is full of great photographers who are willing to share their knowledge.

Hey Mike;

Welcome to the forum. You've got some awesome subject matter in your father in law's tank. And, good work at shooting them! Everyone here is always keen to see new photos of cool/interesting fish and help out anyone with questions.

Cheers, Chris

Welcome to APF, Mike!
These are some pretty cool shots for starting with this hobby!
Looking forward for your photos and questions...:idea:

Thanks for all the kind words! Now I'm just trying to read up a little more and figure out what kind of lighting to develop to meet my needs and budget. I don't have sufficient lighting in my cichlid tank to do much :-\
