New to fish loving

Hello!
I'm Miranda and just started my first tank. It was supposed to be a simple tank for my kids, but because of a store clerk's error and the lack of research my husband did before buying, it seems it's quickly turning into a very important learning experience and all out hobby. I'm glad I found this site and am sure to have tons of questions.

Oh "Rocky set up in a 10 gall (only for the time being) with 1 Lace catfish, 1 algea eater, and 4 golden cichlids."

What fish did you end up picking up?

They told us golden cichlids were zebra danios and very non aggressive....I don't need to tell all you that they killed most of my fish...

The scientific name is melanochromis auratus.
