Well i got a LMB 2 sunnies, didnt know much about bacteria and other things and about how your suppose to let your cycle go for a while till the bacteria and ect is gone, long story short came home to all my fish dead from work today , so now im more informed being the pet store didnt tell me when i bought everything im now doing a planted tank with smaller fish once i cycle... btw off the topic how long do the 1st cycles usually take anyway?

first cycles can take up to days maybe weeks it depends wat tank size it is....

Thats real unfortunate, especially because people should be able to depend on a LFS to give good directions and help beginners. Cycling depends on the tank size, filtration, and load on the tank. so a 10 gal with a dozen goldfish and a HOB filter will cycle within 2 weeks usually sooner. Everything makes a variable but usually less than 3 weeks.

was a temp 75 gal holding tank for sunfish and lmb each only about 2 inches. so now im just runnign the tank for another week or so... see where it takes me..
