new to fishing

im new to fishing,iv only fished one place and only caought bass,crappie,and sunfish.my rod is light and not too strong.also my lure is those ones with a skirt and i have one that looks like a fish.my questions are how do i fish for catfish and can you eat largemouth bass.and what equipment do i need for saltwater fishing to catch the most diversity like blue fish and other fish.

dont eat lmb as a fellow newyorker you should obviously know that down around by us the lmb pop is no where near high to be taking anyfish out and you should alwayyys c.a.r
and sw like blues and rocks use those bass attacks thats works pretty good or you can go with clam,squids,or the shiners
