HI , I am new to this forum , I have a 90 gallon custom bowfront aquarium that I won ! It is home for my Dogface puffer named Reef and his new friend a Huma Trigger . I also have a 55 gal. full of Oranda's . I currently have one that is sick . It had a split in its tail , the lfs told me to buy a cage made out of netting , I have had him in there for a few days , I came home today and was shocked because he looks like he has developed dropsy . His scales look like they are pincones . I am stuck on what to do , my lfs is closed right now . Im doing a water change . All water parameters are as always perfect . Nice to meet all of you .

I know nothing, so I can't offer any suggestions or advice,
but just wanted to say Hi and welcome!

there is realy no known cure for dropsy, they are always known to be fatal in fishes some says that it is cause by bacterial infection that it causes the fish to pinecone and eventually die. I have encountered dropsy too but only in my bettas they always end up dead no matter how hard i try and how many medications i use.. Its just the fish cant take it.. Anyway some claim that they have cured it.. Better try it to your oranda. Search for dropsy treatment in the internet quick!
