So the other day I finally picked up a Silver Gar, and I'm posting here because I didn't see anywhere to post for gar-like, so if this needs moved, please move it!

But he is 4 inches, and I bought a 55g to keep him in. It was $70 so I thought it be good and I'm gonna watch craigslist until I can find a 100+g to keep him in. Currently though, until Friday, he's in a 29g. I'm selling a 38g that's right where his 55g will be. But since I put him in, he's caused the Ammonia to go from 0 to about 1ppm and even went as high as 2ppm... I've done 2 50% changes and it goes down for a day or so. Is this a safe level until Friday? I know it's not safe, but will he live until then? And I'm surprised it went up so fast because this tank has been up for awhile... And by the way, the water I'm using for the 55g is from a 56g that's been setup for 5 years that I'm converting to saltwater. So just let me know if I should move him for the next couple days or if he should be okay...

pics? 70 bux seems too expensive...

Looking forward to pics. Silver pike are a great fish, I had one eating pellets until it was in turn eaten by my juruense.

Here's the little guy. Only about 4 inches, gave him about 3 neon tetras a day. (On sale for $.50.)

neons for feeders? You must be rich! lol

Neons haha, I had like 30 in his tankk and moved most but just decided he could have them! I'm far from rich, only 18, but I have no expenses except a $200 car payment..

I was also thinking about getting a red tail barracuda to put in my tank with him. Both would be this size, good or bad idea?
