New to Gars

Hey everyone
I have a tank with dimensions 10ft(length)x2ft(width)x2.25ft(height)...can i keep 2 florida gars in my tank for life ? Thanks in advance

Yes, you could keep two Florida gars in there for life as well as spotted gars, shortnose gars, and tropical gars.

there aren't any that can reach 2' unless they are already bigger than that when you caught them in the wild!

I've seen some pretty big shortnose... Not sure on them with those tank dimensions but you should be fine with the others.

you should be fine if you get them small, I have never seen a spotted or shortnose reach 2' when you get then under 16''!

Gars almost never reach their wild potential in captivity because of various factors (space, food, etc.), so don't expect the four species that I mentioned to exceed 24" under almost all conditions.
