Hi Guys, got 4 new Floridas. Really enjoying them already and there growth is super fast.
I have them in with silver dollars. Will this work?

I've never kept either, but if it does work, it probably won't for long. The gar will probably hit a foot or so in the first year, eventually reaching 2-2.5 feet, and the silver dollars will max out at 6". So even if the silver dollars are full grown, they will probably become dinner at some point
Judging by your pictures I think it's already a strong possibility that fish will start disappearing
These Silver Dollars are the largest growing. Get much bigger then 6 inch from what I hear. They are blue hooks.

ah ok, if they get decent sized then you might be ok. but you're right, it's going to come down whether the silver dollars can grow fast enough. Florida gars don't grow particularly fast. I think they get to a foot in a year and then slow down significantly
As a simple rule shiny fish with gars is a no. But silver dollars are a wide fish so they will not be swallowed. Will work when they get some more size for sure. Being silvery dollars they will bounce back quick from damaged fins and scratches. Will work in the long run
I had the same problem just on a bigger scale lol. I put some 12" pacu in with my 19" gator gar and the gar learned he couldn't swallow them but they were still fun to chew on lol .
