hi guys and kinda new here in this forum but not in fish hobby, im planning to get a red belly piranhas any tips and suggestions? water parameters, tank sizes, foods, filtration etc...

Welcome!

IMO, you should get at least a 125 gallon for a small shoal of Red Bellies. By small shoal, I mean maybe starting out with 8 to 10 small ones and ending up with 6 or 7. Red Bellies are not picky eaters, and should be fed a varied diet including pellets, fish fillet, shrimp, krill, and etc... Red Bellies are messy, and I would filter a 125 with 2 AC110s (for mechanical) and an XP3 (for bio).

I'll try to get back to this topic a bit later on today.....

Filtration-More the merrier man....Look into the rena's-Usually Animal house has the best filter prices in town-
The reef has the best tank prices unless you check craigslist here---But be careful..most of the prices their are really high to begin with..
A raw seafood diet will do the Piranha's good-So would a nice pellet diet-Along with many other things..

yeah a 125 tank, fluval fx5 2 ac 110 and maybe bare bottom i find this works best for me because they are so freakin MESSY!!! my rhoms are good with a little gravel but it traps too much food in my caribe tank.

they are very big and aggressive fish. i would grow 5 babys up in your 55 then eventually move them to a 125. you could do a young rhom for alot longer in a 55 but you will probably never see it. until like a year or two after youve had it. depending on the fish...
