Just so you know as they grow if they are a male/female pair and grow and bond and mate they will kill everything in that tank when they spawn

If you can post some pictures might be able to sex them. Can usually tell around3-4" . You have a perfect sized tank for the pair. I will warn you watch yourself when they get larger durring water changes my 12" male makes it really hard to clean his tank without getting bitten. If you.do have a pair make shure to include somewhere the female.can get away from the male if he gets too aggerssive. Jags are great fish have alot of personality and are very good protective parents of their young. I know i will always keep jags , well and dovii.

Im thinking of trying to set up two territories, can I do it by using the rocks to kinda split the tank in two both sides having caves

Two territories actually are even worse than a bare tank with just fish. They will want to defend the territories, resulting in fighting.

Why is it that people equate fish to math in the sense that 1+1=2. It is not that way with fish. There are so many ways things can turn out. I have a mating pair of Jags with other fish and they have never killed anything.
