Ive been reading about horn wort and java fern over the last few weeks and decided to get some the other day. I like the look of both of those plants over plants with leaves and also that they are a good beginner plant. But i was wondering if it was normal for horn wort to not have roots on it? I know java moss doesn't but is it okay if i just stick one end of the horn wort down in the sand to hold it? Also since i don't seem to see any roots does that mean that any piece that falls off the horn wort will continue to grow as long as its green and alive?

hornwort dosen't have roots becuase it's naturally a floating plant you can plant it in the substrate though if you wish.

Oh, alright. Thanks for the info. I had just figured it wasn't floating because the way it was at the lfs.
