Boy that thing is heavy! Almost threw my back out trying to get it in the house. Next time I am hiring some strong young bucks to move my tanks haha

Going to replace the 90g with the new to me 125g in the coming weeks.

Firstly I will need to build a stand. I found some basic stand plans online, it calls for 2x4’s and 2X6’s, seems like it will be sturdy.

The jacks should love their new 6ft home...not that they swim anywhere. Thinking about adding some kind of syno cat once it is setup!
Side note: do you think the tank will be fine on it’s sode like this for a few weeks? I plan to do all the cleaning with it standing up like this

Always nice to see people upgrading their fishy homes, congrats on the new acquisition! Others would know better, but I think it should be ok standing up like that, though if it were me, and talking a few weeks instead of a few days, just to be on the safe side I would give it a cleaning upright, place it length wise on the floor (if you have space of course), then cover it with plastic or cardboard to keep out dust, etc. until you're ready to install. Personally I've never seen any shops storing them upright even though they're tight on space, so maybe there's a good reason, not sure.

Nice Upgrade, try using 4x4 for vertical and 2x4 for horizondal, less pieces to screw together.

Ok so today I’ve cleaned the tank. I used barkeeps friend. Lovely I must say!

I noticed while I cleaned the tank there’s spots of dried algae under sections of the seams. Now I normally wouldn’t worry but bc this is a bigger tank (and my biggest) do I need to be concerned about it? Pic 1-2 attached with algae under seam circled.

3rd pic is a section of seal that ripped off while cleaning (near the top of the tank), worry or no big deal?

Looks like it's time to reseal it. When the seams start to get that milky color instead of clear.

You’ve got a great point about shops not storing gem like this!

Due to the bf being a little less than stellar with my new purchase I’m going to risk keeping it stored like this :-( he hates that I have it and will hate it more if I take up more living room space

Do you think it’s possible to just seal the 4 corners and not the bottom panel? The bottom seals look fantastic
